Haiku for the First Snow

The world goes on in a hushed tone

Yes, the wintry weather has finally brought us snow. The cardinals look even brighter against the white blanketing the landscape. But the world is a tough place to make a living. The birds and animals have to find food and shelter while avoiding becoming food themselves. I wonder if they ever have time to look around and enjoy the beauty that surrounds them or if that’s only a human construct.

At least they don’t have to shovel…

A bluebird sits on a small feeder. A snowy woods is in the background.

For those using a screen reader, the haiku is:

A busy bluebird,
No time to enjoy the snow,
Has a cold breakfast

I hope you enjoy these little snippets of nature!
