Haiku For July 2022

Who could step higher than a bird?

The heat of summer is in full swing now. Sound is everywhere, both day and night. There is a chorus of insects and frogs, with solos from the fox and the mockingbird. Food is more plentiful now; there is time for a bit of play. The squirrels practice ballet among the branches while damselflies twirl in the air. And so many are searching for a partner!

A crow balancing on a branch with one foot high in the air.

For those using a screen reader, the haiku is:

Even the crows dance
To summer’s steady rhythm;
Classical music
