Thank you!

I’ve noticed I take a lot of cloud photos. And so, too, for this month’s haiku…

When the humid heat of August suffocates the Mid-Atlantic area, thunderstorms can pop up with little warning. There is beauty in them from a distance — towering apparitions billowing into a deep blue sky punctuated by thunderous warnings.

Even when far away, you can still feel their power. The wind shifts at their command. You can smell its approach and, for just the briefest of moments, your mind nearly comprehends their strength. Even the sun hides its face until they have passed.

Then you, and the world, are renewed.

For those using a screen reader, the haiku is:

As though from thin air,
A dark colossus rises
To touch the heavens

As a bonus, I thought I’d throw in another cloud photo. No haiku, just clouds. I mean, why not?

Just some more clouds over Virginia…
