Haiku for February 2021
There’s been a bit of snow here. I’ve watched the foxes hunting, wondering what they think when they see me. “Not worth the trouble,” I suppose. The owls and hawks are on the prowl, too. The cold brings hunger. The small birds and squirrels are on guard. It’s a struggle for some, especially when the snow gets deep. It’s how life is in the wild.
For those using a screen reader, the haiku is:
Tracks of a hunter
Cross the fields of silent snow;
Hunger never sleeps
