Haiku for April 2025
A rant for the season?
Yes, it’s that time again. The trees are having their annual orgy. All is calm. All is gritty. Round yon car covered with yellow blight — or something like that. The only vehicles I see that haven’t changed colors are the school buses. On the whole, I’d rather be in Polynesia than Pollen-esia, but that’s unlikely.
I know, it’s a necessary evil for the trees to produce the nuts, acorns, and fruit that wildlife — and some humans — consume. I just wish they weren’t so messy. It’s a bit disgusting when you think about it. And while I’m not as susceptible to allergies as some, my eyes still feel as though I’ve had a handful of sand thrown into them.
So, no award-winning poetry, just a rant for the season.
For those using a screen reader, the haiku is:
Until the rain comes,
Spring is not green, but yellow;
I need a tissue
