Haiku #2 for August 2024
Okay, I took a break from clouds. So, we go from airy lightness to haunting darkness. And cats. After all, what would the Internet be without cats?
There is something about short-haired black cats — and not just for Halloween. It’s the way they move, like little panthers, even if they’re only sneaking up on a bag of treats. And their eyes have a bit more fire. Or so it seems.
That contrast of pure black against a world of color makes them a little ethereal. Or eldritch. Take your pick. Crows can be like that, too. You always wonder what they are thinking when they look at you. Whatever it is, I’m sure it would make a good story.
For those using a screen reader, the haiku is:
In darkened woodlands,
A lone, silent hunter waits;
But what is the prey?
